De muziek van Kurt Weill doet denken aan die van het Duitse cabaret uit de jaren twintig. Het verhaal van twee zussen, Anna I en Anna II en hun omzwervingen door zeven Amerikaanse steden, wordt vertolkt door een charismatische jonge diseuse, Kikki G\u00e9ron. Dit tijdloze meesterwerk wordt omlijst met muzikale snufjes uit de wereld van de niet zo klassieke muziek.<\/p>\n<p>Michael Gieler, artistic director of Music Stages: 'I find the story of the two sisters particularly\nfascinating. It\u2019s rare that such a sad subject \u2013 the sisters are abused by their families \u2013 is conveyed so originally on a stage.
