Ter nagedachtenis aan de in 2021 overleden Haitink benoemt het orkest iedere twee jaar een jonge dirigent die de chef-dirigent van het Concertgebouworkest assisteert. Met ingang van seizoen 2024\/2025 is dat Aurel Dawidiuk. Dit opmerkelijke talent, geboren in Hannover, maakt in snel tempo carri\u00e8re als dirignt, pianist en organist. Camerata RCO, het kamerorkest dat bestaat uit orkestleden, voert nu Mahlers\u00a0<em>Vijfde symfonie<\/em>\u00a0uit in een versie voor klein kamerorkest onder leiding van dit grote talent.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Michael Gieler, artistiek leider IJ-Salon: \u2018Dit programma ontstond bijna vanzelf: Camerata RCO met haar spraakmakende interpretaties van Mahler voor kamerorkest en Aurel Dawidiuk, de dirigent die in Bernard Haitinks voetsporen mag treden. Dit allemaal gelijktijdig met het grote Mahlerfeest in het Concertgebouw.
