Music Stages is de organisatie achter de IJ-Salon. De stichting organiseert concertreeksen, festivals en educatieve projecten op traditionele én vernieuwende locaties in binnen- en buitenland. Onalledaagse podia zijn laagdrempeliger voor een nieuw publiek.
Wij bevragen conventies en zijn baanbrekend in zowel programmering als in de omgang met ons publiek. Prikkelende producties, altijd met een eigen gezicht, getuigen van creativiteit en relevantie.
Wij betrekken graag uiteenlopende disciplines en integreren verschillende podiumkunsten in onze programmering. Verrassende verbindingen en een flinke dosis nieuwsgierigheid verplaatsen kamermuziek naar onbekend terrein.

Passie en nieuwsgierigheid
Vanuit de vurige overtuiging dat elk repertoire het verdient om telkens gloednieuw te klinken, richtte hij in 2005 de IJ-Salon op. Met zijn nieuwsgierigheid en creativiteit geeft Michael kamermuziek een nieuwe dimensie. Op het podium is hij een innemende gastheer, die als geen ander het publiek bij zijn programmering betrekt.
Michael Gieler (Austria, 1966) started playing the violin at the age of five and was already a member of a professional string quartet in his teens. Since 1993 he has been a solo violist of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. He has always been drawn to chamber music and has particularly versatile tastes: from Bach to contemporary avant-garde music.
